Hotels are not often our first accommodation choice when we travel, primarily because of the cost. However, our visit to Rotorua a few weeks ago was planned on short notice, which meant that most of the affordable accommodations were already booked (or so we thought). Because we were desperate to find an available hotel in less than a week, we resorted to scanning the various hotel booking websites and we ended up reserving a double room at Holiday Inn Rotorua. Hotel room rate during our stay: $108/ night, the reservation

La Cigale is tucked within one of Auckland’s upmarket suburbs, Parnell. It has a cafe and a shop which are open seven days a week, a bistro which only operates on Wednesday evenings, and a French market which is up during the weekends. This review will focus primarily on the cafe and the weekend market because we rarely go the city on weekdays. Aspire Hotel Sydney ticked all the boxes for us. It is a 3-star hotel located in Bulwara Road, Ultimo. The nightly rate  during our stay was approx. AUD$150/ night for a Premium room; we also received a code for to get a 10% discount after we made an enquiry at the Metro Hotels website

Puhoi Valley Cheese Store and Cafe is a good escape if you are in Auckland.  The cafe is about a 45-minute drive if you are departing from the CBD and is tucked in a small town up north called Puhoi (as the cafe’s name entails). People travelling to Matakana, Goat Island, or anywhere north of Auckland are highly recommended to grab a bite at the cafe before getting back on the road. The cafe boasts a lush green scenery and a beautiful water feature. We consider the cafe as typical when it comes to the food and the drinks option,
